Overview

Darts26 is a darts scoring app that works offline. Your game data stays on your device. The only data that ever leaves your device is the diagnostic information described in the "Crash Reporting" section below, which we use to fix bugs.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following is stored locally on your device using on-device storage and is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Player names and profiles
  • Game history and statistics
  • Custom checkout tables
  • App settings and preferences

You can delete this data at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Crash Reporting & Diagnostics (Sentry)

Darts26 uses Sentry to collect crash reports and diagnostic information so we can find and fix bugs. Sentry acts as our data processor and does not use this data for its own purposes. Data is sent to Sentry's EU region (Germany).

The data collected may include:

  • Device model and operating system version
  • App version and build number
  • A randomly-generated installation identifier
  • Error messages, stack traces, and breadcrumbs leading up to a crash
  • A short replay of on-screen activity around the time of a crash, with all text and images masked so player names and scores are not visible

We do not enable Sentry's optional identifying data: IP addresses, cookies, and user identifiers are not sent. We do not collect advertising identifiers.

Retention

Sentry retains error data for up to 90 days and replay data for up to 30 days by default. See Sentry's privacy policy for details.

In-App Feedback

The app includes an optional "Submit Feedback" form. If you choose to use it, the message you type — and the name and email address you enter, if any — are sent to Sentry and forwarded to us. Submitting feedback is voluntary; you do not need to enter your real name or email to use the form.

Chromecast

When you use the Cast feature, game scoreboard data is sent over your local network to your Chromecast device. The Google Cast SDK that powers this feature communicates with Google's servers for device discovery and session setup; please see Google's privacy policy for details on what Google collects.

Speech Recognition

Darts26 offers optional voice score input using your device's built-in speech recognition. Audio is captured by your device and processed by your operating system's speech recognition service (Apple on iOS, Google on Android). Depending on your device model and OS settings, this audio may be processed on-device or transmitted to Apple or Google for processing. It is never sent to Darts26.

Microphone access is only used when you actively use the voice input feature. Please refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details on how speech data is handled.

Third-Party Services

Darts26 does not use any advertising, marketing, or behavioural tracking services. The third-party services we use are:

  • Sentry — crash reporting and diagnostics (data processor, EU-hosted)
  • Google Cast SDK — only when you actively use the Cast feature
  • Apple Speech Recognition / Google Speech Services — only when you actively use voice input

Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data-protection rules, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we process about you, and to object to or restrict our processing. Because Sentry events are not linked to a personal account or identifier we control, we may need additional information from you (for example, the approximate time of a crash) to locate the relevant data.

Legal basis

Our processing of crash and diagnostic data relies on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — keeping the app stable and secure. You may opt out at any time by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Darts26 does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
